Farhad's fate to be decided in Supreme Court today
No case, including Narad, is being heard in the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday and Thursday in the wake of Cyclone Yas. The High Court has issued a notification stating that even if the court staff does not come for these two days, they will not be considered absent. It is learned that the decision on resumption of work will be taken in the High Court only after examining the weather situation next Thursday. Earlier, the Narad case was heard in the Calcutta High Court on Monday. The Narad case was scheduled to be heard in a larger bench of the high court on Wednesday. However, precautionary measures have been taken due to cyclone Yas. No case, including Narad, is being heard in the Calcutta High Court next Wednesday and Thursday for fear of Yas. The High Court has issued a circular in this regard.
The bail case of four heavyweight leaders in Naradkand has not been settled yet. The court has ordered everyone to be under house arrest. A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice Arijit Bandyopadhyay of the High Court disagreed on Subrata Mukherjee, Firhad Hakim's bail Madan Mitra Shovan Chatterjee. The question of hearing the case arose in the larger bench. For now, however, there will be no hearing in the Calcutta High Court until Thursday in the wake of Hurricane Yas.
However, the Supreme Court will hear the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) plea today. Earlier, the CBI had appealed to the apex court challenging the house arrest of four heavyweight leaders in the Narad case. The Supreme Court is hearing the petition of the Central Investigation Agency today.
