The first black fungus-infected teenager in the country, experts say

 Ahmedabad: Black fungus has started showing its dominance across the country. The number of victims is increasing. Children are not excluded from the bite of this black fungus. A 15-year-old boy from Gujrat has recently contracted black fungus. The infection was discovered a few weeks after Corona was conquered. Pediatricians in Ahmedabad say this is the first time they have seen a teenager infected with black fungus.

According to a pediatrician in Gujrat, the teenager was admitted to the hospital on April 14 with corona virus infection. He was kept in ICU for 10 consecutive days. Oxygen, remediation as well as steroids were given and on 28 April the teenager was released from corona.And then he was released. One week later there was a sudden toothache and a small ulcer in the palate, which eventually turned out to be mucormycosis. He added that eventually the teenager had to undergo a minor operation. The sinuses are cleaned by removing the jaw teeth on the right side of the mouth. His condition is now stable and he will be released from the hospital in the next three to four days. It is the first black fungus infection in children.

According to statistics, 2,281 people have been infected with black fungus in Gujarat so far. Which has been considered as the most infected state in the country. Black fungus has been declared an epidemic in Gujarat. In line with the Centre's guidelines, black fungus has been classified under the Epidemic Act, 1897.

In Rajasthan, on the other hand, more than 100 people have been infected with black fungus. The Rajasthan Govt is deeply concerned about the situation. Black fungus infection is feared to take a deadly shape in the state. That is why the Rajasthan government has also declared the infection of black fungus as 'Pandemic'.
