India bows its head in the court of the world with the vaccine!

Jayant Ghoshal: Even before the election results were announced, a senior journalist from Delhi said that no matter how hard the BJP tries to polarize religion in West Bengal, the political polarization in the state is so intense that it is difficult to religious polarization. The results of the vote have been published. Maybe that veteran journalist's words are partially true. But I myself have been stunned by the last few months to see what the face of political polarization might be. There is enough reason to be sad to see the ugly look of this polarization even after the vote!

Now it seems that the political factions in West Bengal have become so entrenched that even the father-in-law can tell the son-in-law that you have become a BJP. That is, the son-in-law's invitation was rejected. Saying that his father-in-law is a grassroots activist, the BJP may boycott his son-in-law for life. He can tell his wife that he will not go to his father's house anymore. This kind of political polarization that is spreading like a cancer in our social, personal and family life is probably to be ruled out.

And now we are in the final stages of the Corona disaster. So writing today, I thought, if I talk about coming out of politics, would you dislike it? See, this second terrible wave of Corona has severely damaged the second episode of Narendra Modi. Two surveys report one from America and the other from India. According to two reports, Narendra Modi's all-India popularity has declined by 20 per cent. And the failure of Corona Management is one of the main reasons for this loss of popularity. Even when Narendra Modi was demonetized, his popularity took a hit. But that was not 20 percent. That was about 5 percent. He also overcame that through various political steps in a very short period of time. Today this decline is becoming quite difficult.

Vaccines from abroad are not available as much as needed. A few days ago we were vaccinating neighboring countries. We produce the most vaccines! And now we can't get more than vaccines. The real reason is that we, not only the Modi government, but the whole country, have come to believe that we are beginning to think that this second storm in Corona is unlikely to come. The government should have been more aware of what ordinary people think. For this overconfidence we did not even apply abroad for a vaccine. Now we can't give as much as we need. Even states like Bangladesh, neighboring friendly countries, are complaining that the second installment of the vaccine is not reaching Dhaka despite being paid. They are complaining to India as to why it is not coming. Vaccine is beating diplomacy. On the contrary, Bangladesh has sent a vaccine to Kolkata showing good gestures. And there Modi's vaccine diplomacy has taken a hit. The Bangladesh government says that the Dhaka government made all the arrangements to take him to the abode of the founder of Matua because Modi wanted him during the polls. There were no roads. There was no security. Nevertheless, they listened to Modi as a friend. But today he is not saying that he will give them the antidote to Corona.

In Delhi, people have started blaming others for not getting the vaccine. Jayashankar's foreign ministry says the minister had stated the policy of aggressive vaccination from the very beginning. Then Health Minister Harshvardhan did not give him importance. Again, Harshvardhan is blaming some officials of the Prime Minister's Secretariat. Even Jayashankar's ministry is now trying to lift the ban imposed by the US Trump administration on sending certain components of the vaccine. The reason is that making a vaccine is not the same as making coffee. 300 ingredients are needed to make this vaccine. An important component of which is RNA related. The monopoly of that material is with four American companies. Indian vaccine companies are unable to produce vaccines because they do not provide them.Punawala, the head of the Serum Institute, has moved to London with his family, outraged that he has been pressured to produce more vaccines than previously claimed. Jayashankar went to London to attend the G-7 summit. There, two members of the Indian delegation were found to be corona positive. In that, Jayashankar and India got enough disgrace.
He had to make the meeting virtual even after going to London. However, Jayashankar's foreign ministry said that each member had been tested seven times before leaving. But the Indian test did not catch. The London test is much more sensitive and the two were called corona-positive because their dead RNAs were caught. In fact, their corona has already been infected. It no longer had the power to influence. But the question is, what was the need to take such a person so that India would be disgraced. All in all, there is a lot of noise among themselves. There is no antidote. The antidote is not going to be given. Suddenly no one could have imagined that there would be such a lack of oxygen. Oxygen is being brought from abroad. In all these situations we have to fight this battle with utmost sadness.

But in this situation, I think, now is not the time to do politics. When we see that the incidence of corona is increasing in West Bengal. The Corona Protocol needs to be further complied with. Although not before, now there is a lockdown in West Bengal. Then why the eight-point vote? Why didn't the Election Commission show awareness at that time?
