Ranbir Kapoor's Bollywood was chalked up in a short film
MUMBAI: Not many of us know that Ranbir Kapoor, the handsome boy of Bollywood, started his Bollywood journey with an Oscar-nominated short film or short film. The name of the film is 'Karma'. It was directed by Abhay Chopra, grandson of veteran film director BR Chopra. The film was recently selected for release on the Bandra Film Festival (BFF) YouTube channel. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the film also stars Sharat Saxena and Milind Joshi.
Ranbir Kapoor acted in this film when he was a student of director Abhay Chopra. Karma was released in 2004. The film was nominated for a Student Oscar. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Saawariya' released in 2007 was considered as Ranbir Kapoor's first Bollywood debut. But before Saawariya, he had acted in the short film Karma in 2004.
The 26-minute short film focuses on the tensions between a father and son. Director Abhay Chopra has revealed the story of how the father of the district overcame his hesitation in executing his own son in 26 minutes.
Ranbir Kapoor was the student of director Abhay. So his student first acted in his hands. In that context, he said, ‘Those days of managing Ranbir are very dear to me. He has not started his career in Bollywood yet. Despite that, he has acted so effortlessly and comfortably. In fact, acting is flowing in his veins. Abhay said about Sarat Saxena, another important character in the film, ‘Sarat has done a great job in the film. He has a strong image on the screen. The director was quite excited about this short film. "I am just happy to be able to tell such a story," he said. After so many years, the film is being screened at the Bandra Film Festival (BFF), which is really a big achievement for me.
